2. What do you think was the turning point for Alake?
I think the turning point for Alake was when she had no choice but to save Mopsy and the rest of the Finches. It proved to the Amabo's that Alake actually had a heart and, she wasn't just a killer. In my opinion, Alake was never really a killer. She was trying to save her sister, not purposely kill her teacher. When she was willing to step up to kill herself, along with Victor, really showed that the Amabo's were wrong all along.
4. What character do you think changed the most from the beginning to the end of the novel? How did they change?
The character I think changed the most from beginning to end was Jared. At the beginning, he didn't want anything to do with the Church or the refugees that his family was sponsering. He also thought that Mopsy was an annoying little bratty sister. In the end, he thought wrong. He had matured and learned to put up with the refugees. He had grown scloser to them as the three months went along.. He started to stick up for Alake and he didn't leave Mattu's side when he started school.

Most felt the turning point for Alake was the hair cut or the puppy. You do support your answer well, however.
ReplyDeleteJared certainly did change a lot from the beginning to the end. Very good comments.
